TURKISH AMATEUR OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP 2012

COMPETITORS INFORMATION
1. CONDITIONS
The Championship will be played over 72 holes strokeplay from 31st May to 03rd June 2012.
In each tournament, 93 international players and 6 Turkish players shall be eligible to compete and there will be a cut after the third round (54 holes). The leading 60 players and ties will qualify to play the final round in each Championship.
Applications will be accepted from Amateur Golfers whose exact handicap does not exceed 0,0 for men and 3,0 strokes for ladies under the handicapping scheme adopted by the recognized authority controlling golf in the country from which they enter. Handicaps declared in the entry forms will be checked with the national governing bodies.
In the event of a tie for the 1. Place, there will be a sudden death play off on the 18th hole until a winner is decided. Any further tie will be decided based on the final stipulated 18, 9, 6, 3, 1 hole scores.
Play will be in 3 balls and starting times will be announced prior to each round.

3. VENUES
GLORIA GOLF CLUB - Old Course Par 72 6273m (LADIES)
The Championship Old Course at the Gloria Hotels & Resorts has hosted 4 European Seniors Tour events and is one of the host courses for the World Amateur Team Championships 2012. With its tree lined fairways and 7 freshwater lakes it is one of the most challenging courses in Turkey designed by Michel Gayon and opened in September 1997.
GLORIA GOLF CLUB - New Course Par 72 6239m (LADIES)
Gloria New Course (18 hole, Par 72, 6239 m), set in 700.000 m2 of Pine trees and with 4 large lakes and 67 bunkers, was opened in 2005. The signature 17th hole is modeled on the 17th at The TPC Sawgrass and the lake lined 18th hole makes your finish a memorable one.
CORNELIA GOLF CLUB - Prince Course Par 72 6411m (MEN)
The Cornelia Golf Club is located about 30 minutes from Antalya Airport. The 27 hole Faldo Championship Golf Course is the first design project of Nick Faldo in south Eastern Europe and will challenge golfers of all handicaps. The course measures a total of 6411 meters and has a par of 72.
ANTALYA GOLF CLUB - Sultan Course Par 71 6411m (MEN)
The Antalya Golf Club is located about 30 minutes from Antalya Airport. The courses, designed by leading architects European Golf design, together with design consultant and Senior Tour professional David Jones, provide not only a challenge to golfers of all abilities but also wonderful surroundings in which to enjoy your game. The 18 hole The PGA Sultan championship course with challenging narrow fairways and 122 bunkers measures a total of 6411 meters and has a par of 71 for men.

5. TRANSFERS
TGF will provide transfers from Antalya International Airport to the official hotels upon request. The transportation fee will be 40, - EUR per person (both ways).
Those who requests transfers from TGF, have to visit below web site and provide their flight details together with their credit card info to complete payment.

Participants who choose not to stay at the official hotels or who do not provide required information will need to make their own arrangements for transfers to and from the airport. The airport is ca. 30 minutes from the hotel.
6. INTERNAL TRANSPORT
Internal transports for all participants from the official hotels to the courses, and between courses will be provided by shuttle services on a timely basis which will be posted at the official hotels and championship venues. Participants who are not staying at the official hotels will need to make their own arrangements for internal transportation.
7. HOTEL ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING
The Turkish Golf Federation has blocked rooms between 28 May and 4 June at the Sirene Golf Hotel and Cornelia Diamond Hotel for Men and Gloria Hotels & Resorts for ladies at the special rates mentioned below. All players and guests are expected to meet their own accommodation expenses. The officially recommended hotels are the Sirene Golf Hotel, the Cornelia Diamond Hotel for men and Gloria Hotels & Resorts for ladies Championship.
Half Board: Half Board prices, include breakfast, dinner and only 1 soft drink taken at dinner and V.A.T
All Inclusive: All Inclusive prices include all day meals, alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and V.A.T. Please note that AI concept does not include expenses made in the Golf Club.

For the players residing in the official hotels, there will be no charges for the players' entry fees / green fees / trolleys and practice balls during both, the practice and tournament days. On the competition days only water on the course and a limited open buffet lunch at the Clubhouse will be served free of charge.
For those who wish to stay in another hotel than the official hotels, will be asked to pay 70€ green fee per day for each practice round they attend. Green fees for the tournament days / entry fees / trolleys and practice balls will be provided free of charge.
8. REGISTRATION
Registration will be from 10:00 am to 12:30 at the registration desks situated the Club Houses. Registration must be completed by 12:30 on Wednesday 30th May 2012.
9. GENERAL RULES
The Championship Committee reserves the right to fix and/or alter starting times and amend the regulations if necessary.
It will be obligatory for all competitors in the Championship to play with a ball which appears on the current R&A list of conforming golf balls. Penalty for breach of conditions: Disqualification.
Limit for drivers: The design, material and/or construction of, or any treatment to, the club head (which includes the face) must not have the effect of a spring which exceeds the limit set forth in the Pendulum Test Protocol on file with the R&A. A list of non-conforming clubs is published on the R & A's website : www.randa.org. Penalty for breach of conditions: Disqualification
10. EXEMPTIONS
The following will be exempt from the ballot provided they satisfy the handicap requirements:
a. 2011 Turkish Open Champions.
b. 2011 National Champions (men & ladies) of the member countries of the European Golf Association and USA.
c. Overseas entries at the discretion of the Championship Committee.
11. CURRENCY EXCHANGE
All Hotels and Golf Clubs are able to change hard European currencies and accept all major credit cards. You will only require local currency to pay for any personal shopping items.
12. PRACTICE ROUNDS & FACILITIES
The golf course will be available for competitors to practice from Tuesday 29th May. Players are requested to book tee times for practice through www.turkishopen.org/practicetimes . Tee time reservations work on first come first serve basis. Participant who do not provide necessary information will be able to practice on availability basis.
13. CADDIES
There will be no caddies available.
14. TROLLEYS
Trolleys are available free of charge.
15. DRESS CODE
Normal golf dress rules apply, no jeans or training shoes are allowed and all shirts must have collars.
16. NATIONS CUP
The teams for both Men's and Ladies' Nations Cup will consist of 3 (or 2) players with the same nationality. 2 best results of the first three rounds (54 holes) will count. Teams must be determined before 25.April.2012. Federations should enter the below web page and fill the required fields of the form to be able to compete for the Nations Cup.

A tie for any place shall be decided using the sum of the lowest scores; one from each day shall be used. If a tie still exists the sum of the second lowest scores shall be used. Any further tie will be decided based on the final stipulated 36, 18, 9, 6, 3, 1 of the best score from each tied teams.
The members of the winning team, 2nd and 3rd teams will receive medals. The name of the Nation will be engraved to the Nations' Cup Trophy both for ladies and men.
17. PRIZES
The winners of the Championship shall be the Turkish Open Amateur Champion Golfers for the period of one year.
The winner shall receive a gold medal, the runner up a silver medal and the 3rd placed competitor a bronze medal. In the event of a tie for the silver or bronze medal, the places will be decided on the last 18, 9, 6, 3 or 1 holes in that order.
Prize presentation for men and ladies championships will take place together at the Gloria Golf Club as soon as possible after the final round has been completed.
18. WELCOME COCKTAIL PARTY
All players and guests are invited to a welcome cocktail party at Gloria Golf Resort on Wednesday 30th May at 19:00.
